Vienna, 18 August 2015 – Kapsch TrafficCom AG (ISIN AT000KAPSCH9), listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange in the prime market segment, has been awarded a contract by the Dutch national road authority Rijkswaterstaat and has received the intention to award a contract by the English road authority Highways England to supply the Advanced Traffic Management System DYNAC as part of the collaborative program CHARM, between the English and Dutch national roads authorities, that will modernize and consolidate traffic management on their highways.

Kapsch will deliver and install DYNAC in two traffic management centres, one in England and one in the Netherlands, with the installment set to be completed within 26 months of the start date. After the implementation in the first traffic management centres, DYNAC will be installed by a third party in all remaining traffic management centres, with the contract totaling around 60 million Euro including the provision of particular maintenance support services for a period of up to 13 years after the successful installation of  the DYNAC Advanced Traffic Management System. The parties have agreed to make a joint statement upon signing of the contracts.

Regeringen har utsett Lena Erixon till Trafikverkets nya generaldirektör. Lena Erixson tillträder sin nya tjänst den första september i år.

I dag är Lena Erixson generaldirektör vid Försvarets materielverk. Hon har sedan tidigare lång erfarenhet som myndighetschef och arbetat på hög nivå inom både Vägverket och Trafikverket.

The Transport Systems Catapult is looking for a small or medium enterprise to develop the winning design of the All Aboard competition, a vibrating wristband that helps visually or hearing impaired people using buses, into a working prototype.

The All Aboard competition, run on behalf of the Department for Transport, invited students aged between 14-18 to come up with innovative solutions to make buses more accessible for people with visual or hearing impairments.

The European Commission announced on 23 April its decision to set-up an expert group on alternative transport fuels – The Sustainable Transport Forum.


On 28 April 2015 the European Parliament voted in favour of eCall regulation, which requires all new cars be equipped with eCall technology from April 2018.


The European Commission unveiled its detailed plans to create a Digital Single Market, thereby delivering on one of its top priorities.


The EU’s TEN-T program has awarded 75 research and innovation projects a total of € 484m in research grants, aiming to make Europe’s transport systems greener, safer, and more competitive.

EC has decided to set up a expert group on Digital Transport and Logistics.

The Forum will aim at further supporting digitalisation of freight transport and logistics. It will bring together Member States and stakeholders from all transport and logistics communities with the aim to identify challenges and areas where common action in the EU is needed, to provide recommendations, and to work on the implementation of these recommendations where appropriate.

This is a very important area and we need to have Swedish input in the work. If you are interested to participate please make a Application and if you need any support contact ITS Sweden.
